Get Back Up

Life isn’t always going to be easy. It’ll chew you up, beat you down, knock you out, and not look back. It’ll put you in some deep and dark places and try to keep you down. To be honest, not many people do get up. They stay down, beaten and defeated. They make excuses and pretend they’re ok. Nothing but an act. But in fact, they are hoping that maybe one day it’ll get better. Don't hope and wait. Make it it better yourself. All the fight you need is right there in you.

One of my favorite quotes is a Rocky Balboa quote and it goes like this:  “Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done. Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that.”

This quote has gotten me through some real dark times in my life. When things look bleak, I say this quote and that’s all I need. It lights the fire in me to get back up. To keep moving forward. Not to give up but to get up and write my narrative the way I want it to be. You can do it too. You have the power. You can take the hits. Get back up and win.
