Why is the little toe important?

Google it....seriously. I did, and learned that although it doesn't move much or seem to serve much of a purpose, it is pretty essential for the body to move effectively. In everyday life that's probably not what you are giving your little toe credit for. It's small and annoying, often seeming to cause more pain than it is worth. This past week alone I probably hit mine on something 4 or 5 times. That's what I remember about my little toe, not that, without it, running or simply walking would be one of the 12 tasks of Hercules. Maybe that's dramatic...but you get the point. So what does this have to do with anything? I'm glad you asked! More and more as I have matured in life I have been realizing the importance of community. UGLYAF is essentially that, a group of people having similar interests and attitudes, as well as goals (if you own apparel you are a part of UGLYAF). And like parts of the body, everyone in this community has a function. Maybe you're a mouth that shares the idea of self love and love for others from day to day. You could be a hand, touching someone's life in a way that shows love. Someone might even be a little toe, helping us move forward each day so that we can continue to illuminate this idea that should already be common practice. Simply put, we are all important in this endeavor. So this week, strive to serve that purpose, use what you have to cultivate love for self and others in the people around you. And don't do it for UGLYAF, although we greatly appreciate it. Do it for the health and improvement of this body known as the human race.
