Count the Blessings
My good brother David told me recently to count my blessings and never stop counting. He said that to me about a week ago and it has been on my mind ever since. I don’t really take the time out to count my blessings. The way I’m wired it always go, go, go. Never stop moving, always going. I’ve spent so much time focusing on trying to achieve greatness and improving myself and all my endeavors, that I overlooked all the good. All the things that went well and all the good that is literally in my life, I’ve neglected...
A quiet place (no spoilers here)
Do you ever ride in your vehicle without any music playing? Just a (relatively) quiet ride? Are you ever in your house without the tv on or background music? I mean besides when you maybe reading a book. Is your only space for uninterrupted thought the shower? There has to be a reason why that's where some of our most prolific thoughts occur. My theory is because if we're not singing in the shower we are quiet, and if we're quiet we are thinking. That's true for me anyway. My car and shower time are where I have the least...
Gather

The gathering of the community and...
Virtues
We are all very much aware that patience is a virtue. I find comfort in believing that honesty is one as well. Since life is, in my opinion, about balance I am ok being honest about my lack of patience. I have always desired patience, I think of it as something that can not simply be had, it is something that must be worked on and earned. I always found it interesting my lack of patience, seeing as though I grew up in the dial-up error and without patience in those days, not too much of anything could get done....
The Setback
You ever work so hard for or looked forward to anything so bad before? Anything. Sports, school, job, a vacation or even just doing better in life. You can feel yourself getting so close to that goal. So close you can smell it. Just for you to get slapped with a hard setback. It’s the worse right? It’s like running right into a brick wall. Then, boom the discouragement sets in. All this work and for what? Just to not taste the fruit of all your labor. But all is not lost. Someone once put the brick wall in perspective...
